If I get called at the last minute to audition, or have a promo appearance last second, my hair is wash, toss, spray & go ! As a performer I like to keep my hair  naturally curly or in braids - I find they are the best low maintenance styles for me.

If I am in a rush, I just go. When I dance those two styles don't sweat out. when it comes to actual performance , or an event sometimes I go more elaborate. I  may add in some weave, glitter or color for drama. I really don't know what has possessed me to put my hair so many different colors from hot pink to green tips - could be my Caribbean descent,  growing up on rock music, or just being a flaming diva. I have just learned ,with all that I do, to keep it heavily conditioned. My hair has gotten mad at me, & decided to leave before, so I learned my lesson.

The really bad thing about dyes & rinses is that they fade, or run. A few years ago I was in manic panic mode. There is a hair dye, that I loved because it came in so many colors and was strong, but between that & whatever else I was trying from www.rickys-nyc.com it was running all over my poor ex-boyfriends wall ! It looked as though he was testing paints on them because they're were like 7 different color stains from when I was leaning back & watching TV !!

For a while now i'm giving my hair a bit of a rest, & only dying it realistic colors. It is naturally dark brown, sometimes I add lighter streaks, or throw in a black rinse & straighten it, just to give a really sexy vamp look. Due to my hectic schedule, straight hair, does not last on me.

I love to play with fashion & make up, Hair is  a very important part of setting off a look.  My parentage is Latin ,Caribbean, & Indian and on different days my hair likes to play little tricks on me, and tends to lean with one of those groups more than the others.

My hair is extremely curly & thick, most black hair products don't work on my hair, but one of my favourites that is most effective is Duke greaseless for men. It still showcases the natural curl of my hair, while moisturizing and making it manageable, but not totally weighing it down with grease etc. It's much more active/touchable hair. I can then wear it in ponytails up or down and not worry about it breaking.
